WELCOME!
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Emergency Department at the Leicester Royal Infirmary - we are very much looking forward to meeting all of you.
The INDUCTED page has been set up in order to house all of the things that we think you need to know before starting with us. We fully understand the challenges of rotational training and are also aware that working in ED can be a daunting prospect. We therefore really hope that this page will help to make the transition (be it from another department/hospital, city, or even country) as smooth as possible and will help to allay any fears that you may have of Emergency Medicine.
Once you have read through everything on this page , go back to the main INDUCTED page, click on ‘Mandatory Induction’ and read through all of the information there. The rest of the INDUCTED page is then there for you to use as you wish, but we definitely advise that you take a look at each of the different sections, as there is lots of useful information there!
Please don’t worry, we definitely don’t expect you to memorise all of the information - our aim is for this website to act as a guide for you to refer back to when needed.
Hopefully we have covered most things, but please do not hesitate to contact us to ask any questions that you may have - there is a contact form on the ‘Get In Touch’ page. As this is still a very new website, we would also appreciate it if you could you could use this form to let us know of any feedback that you may have.
If you have specific questions regarding the rota, leave requests etc, then please contact the ED medical staffing team directly.
